Sex Monster Simon Hutchinson Jailed for 17 Years Over Decade of Abuse
Simon Hutchinson, 53, an unemployed predator from Stone Cross near Eastbourne, has been slammed with a 17-year sentence at Hove Crown Court. The vile sex offender was convicted of abusing a young girl he knew over a chilling 10-year period.
Revolting Crimes Revealed
- Admitted to four counts of rape and seven counts of sexual assault, all repeated offences
- Also convicted of three charges for possessing indecent images of children
- Serving 12 years behind bars, with an extra 5 years on extended licence
- Forever branded a registered sex offender
Victim’s Bravery Brings Justice
In March 2020, now a teenager, the victim finally found the courage to spill the harrowing truth to a friend, who instantly alerted police. Hutchinson was arrested the very same day. Thanks to her bravery and family support, a thorough police probe followed, leading to a guilty plea in March 2021 at Lewes Crown Court.
Judge and Police Condemn Abuse
Judge Jeremy Gold branded the crimes “an appalling catalogue of entrenched and systematic abuse.”
Detective Constable Tania Snashall said, “This was a very disturbing case where Hutchinson groomed the victim from a very young age, breaking the trust she should have had. “It is only thanks to her bravery that the abuse stopped and she can now live free from fear. “I hope this harsh sentence sends a clear message about the seriousness of Hutchinson’s offending and helps the victim and her family begin to rebuild their lives.”
