Notorious Tottenham Turks Gang Leader Gunned Down in Moldova
Izzet Eren, the 41-year-old head of the infamous Tottenham Turks gang, has been assassinated in Moldova. Linked to a brutal Dalston drive-by shooting that left a nine-year-old girl fighting for her life, Eren was shot seven times while sitting outside a café in Chisinau on Wednesday.
Electric Scooter Assassin Strikes
Eren was dressed casually in shorts, sliders, and a baseball cap when a gunman on an electric scooter fired three bullets into his head, killing him instantly. The attacker, wearing a helmet, sped away from the crime scene, leaving shock and chaos behind.
London Gang Feud Sparks Fears of Retaliation
- British police are probing whether Eren’s murder ties to the May 29 Dalston shooting, which critically injured a nine-year-old girl and wounded three men, including a member of the rival Hackney Bombers gang.
- The bitter turf war between Tottenham Turks and Hackney Bombers centres on control of the lucrative heroin trade.
- Eren’s killing threatens to ignite fresh waves of gang violence and bloody payback on UK streets.
Criminal Past Catches Up
Eren was jailed for 21 years in 2015 over firearms offences in London. Transferred to a Turkish prison in 2019, he escaped custody and resurfaced in Moldova, where he allegedly masterminded gang operations from abroad. Authorities confirmed he was on Interpol’s wanted list for heroin trafficking.
In a grim reminder of the gang war’s deadly toll, Jermaine Baker, a Tottenham Turks member, was shot dead by police in 2015 during a botched prison break organised by Eren. His cousin, Ozcan Eren, was jailed for attempting to free him.
Shock in Moldovan Capital
Chief Police Inspector Viorel Cernauteanu described the hit as a “highly professional” killing. Local residents were stunned by the violent episode in usually peaceful Chisinau, home to 780,000.
With the investigation underway, cops aim to piece together links between the latest London gang violence and Eren’s execution in Moldova, as fears grow of expanding criminal chaos.
