Man Arrested Outside Buckingham Palace Over Suspicious Items

Shocking Incident at Royal Gates

A 59-year-old man, David Huber, was arrested outside Buckingham Palace on Tuesday evening after throwing what police suspect were shotgun cartridges into the palace grounds.

Knife Found, Area Locked Down

Although Huber didn’t have a firearm, officers found him carrying a knife. He was immediately detained on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon. The police quickly cordoned off the area, concerned about a bag he was carrying.

Controlled Explosion and Mental Health Detention

To be safe, officers destroyed the bag with a controlled explosion. Following his arrest, Huber was held under the Mental Health Act and admitted to hospital the next day. He remains in hospital on bail, receiving medical treatment.

Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident. Police have confirmed this is not being treated as a terrorist act.
