Man Pleads Not Guilty to Fatal Pub Stabbing
William Cosier, 33, from Canterbury, has pleaded not guilty to murdering Adam Pritchard, 35. Adam was found fatally stabbed outside The Queen’s Head pub in Boughton-under-Blean near Faversham on March 13.
Stabbing Details Emerge at Inquest
Adam suffered two fatal wounds to his chest and abdomen. Despite paramedics’ efforts, he died at the scene. Police arrested Cosier the next day and charged him with murder. He remains in custody pending trial, which starts on September 16 at Canterbury Crown Court.
At an inquest opening last month in Maidstone, witnesses described a fight at the pub just before the stabbing. Adam was reported to have sustained injuries during the altercation that led to his tragic death.
Community Mourns ‘Generous, Funny, Loyal’ Adam
Tributes flooded social media from friends and locals remembering Adam as “generous, funny and loyal.” The stabbing shook the small community hard. The Street in Boughton-under-Blean was closed for over 24 hours as police and forensics combed the scene. The Queen’s Head pub and surrounding areas were cordoned off during the investigation.
Local vicar Cathrine Ngangira voiced worries about the incident’s impact on residents, especially children at the nearby school, highlighting the shock and fear caused by the violence.
Trial Looms as Investigation Continues
The case remains under investigation as the trial date approaches. Authorities are pushing for justice and answers for Adam’s family and the local community.
