Man Stabbed in Armley: Police Treat Attack as Attempted Murder
A 29-year-old man is fighting for his life after a brutal stabbing in Armley last night. Police are now investigating the attack as attempted murder.
Violent Scene near Town Street
At around 10:40pm, the victim was assaulted by another man during an altercation near Town Street, close to the junctions with Branch Road and Wesley Road. Ambulance services found the man seriously injured with multiple stab wounds to his back, chest, and neck.
He was rushed to hospital and is currently in critical but stable condition in intensive care.
Police set up a large forensic scene around Town Street and Branch Road, launching specialist searches as they hunt for answers.
Investigation Underway – Police Seek Witnesses
“The victim received serious stab wounds and remains in a critical condition in hospital,” said Detective Chief Inspector James Entwistle. “Given the severity and circumstances, we are treating this as attempted murder.”
“We want to hear from anyone who saw what happened or passed by in vehicles. CCTV shows people and cars in the area at the time. Dashcam footage could be crucial.”
“This appears to be a targeted attack involving people who know each other. Neighbourhood officers are stepping up patrols to reassure the community.”
