Teen Stabbed to Death in Bank Holiday Brawl at Edgware Park
Deadly Fight Erupts at Montrose Park
Police were scrambled at 5.54pm on Monday, 31 May after a violent clash broke out among a group of males at Montrose Park, Edgware.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an 18-year-old man with a stab wound inside the park’s tennis courts. Despite immediate treatment by London’s Air Ambulance and London Ambulance Service, he was pronounced dead at 7.19pm.
Mass Arrests and Ongoing Investigation
Ten males, aged from their teens to early 20s, have been arrested on suspicion of affray and murder. They remain in police custody while a crime scene is maintained in the park.
A post-mortem is scheduled for Thursday, 3 June. Police believe they know the victim’s identity but are still contacting his family.
Police Plea for Witnesses
Detective Chief Inspector Claire Hine: “The park was busy with people enjoying the Bank Holiday when this horrific incident happened. We’ve spoken to witnesses but urgently need anyone with info, videos, or photos to come forward. A young man has lost his life in violent circumstances, and we must piece together what happened.”
Detective Superintendent Barry Loader: “Residents will see increased police presence following this tragedy. Our hearts go out to the victim’s family. We encourage anyone with information to speak to officers.”
