Liverpool Teen Jailed for Dozen Burglaries in North Liverpool Spree
A 16-year-old boy from Liverpool has been locked up for two years in youth detention after pleading guilty to 12 burglaries. The teen targeted homes across north Liverpool, including Walton Hall Avenue and Breckfield Road North, between April and August 2022.
Serial Burglar Robin Vasko Faces New Charges
In a win for cops behind Operation Castle, 33-year-old Robin Vasko of Warrington Road, Warrington, pleaded guilty to four more burglaries. Already serving time for previous offences, Vasko was traced to these additional break-ins through fingerprint analysis. He will be sentenced in January.
Woman Linked to 2019 Break-In
Jarmila Levayova, 29, from Cranborne Road, also copped to a burglary charge. Her fingerprints tied her to a 2019 break-in, mainly targeting student homes around Smithdown Road. Like Vasko, she awaits sentencing next January.
Detective Warns: Lock Up or Pay the Price
“Burglary can have a massive impact on victims. It’s a personal, invasive crime. People often lose irreplaceable items,” said Detective Inspector Steve Byrom.
DI Byrom urges the public to stay vigilant and report anything suspicious. He highlighted that many burglars are opportunists.
- Always lock your doors, even when at home.
- Use burglar alarms when out or sleeping.
- Invest in CCTV and light timers.
- Secure sheds, garages, and valuables out of sight.
- Look out for neighbours, especially the vulnerable elderly.
“Dark nights and holidays bring a spike in burglaries. Make sure your home is locked up tight,” warned Byrom. The police continue to urge anyone with information to come forward to help stop this crime wave.
