Wollaton Burglars Snared After Car Theft and Break-ins

Police swooped on two suspects after a spate of burglaries and car theft rocked Wollaton over the past week. The drama started when a homeowner in Glaisdale Drive West woke to find his car keys missing—and his car gone.

Two Men Caught Trying to Break In Again

Four days later, cops spotted two men acting suspiciously on Arleston Drive, trying door handles before fleeing the scene. Officers quickly arrested one man nearby just after 6.30pm on Thursday, 20 April.

Suspected Shoplifter Nabbed Too

While in custody, police discovered the suspect was also tied to a theft at a Wollaton Vale service station, where coffee, cakes, and air fresheners had vanished. He was slapped with additional charges for shop theft.

A second suspect was later arrested at a Bilborough address.

Charges and Court Dates

  • Roy Sisson, 44, of Graylands Road, Bilborough, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 22 April, charged with burglary and motor vehicle theft.
  • He—and Robert Sisson, 34, from the same address—face charges of attempted burglary and shop theft.

Both men were remanded in custody ahead of their Nottingham Crown Court hearing on 18 May.

Detective Sergeant Rob Palethorpe said: “Burglaries are extremely distressing for victims and will always be thoroughly investigated by the force’s two dedicated burglary teams. I am pleased we have charged these two suspects in relation to these incidents.”

Meanwhile, Mark Woodland, 43, homeless, has already been charged with two burglaries, motor vehicle theft, and fraud connected to the Glaisdale Drive West break-in. He was remanded in custody after his court appearance on 20 April.
