Tragic Murder Shakes Nottingham City Centre
Just before 8am on Friday, 28 April, police rushed to High Cross Leys, Nottingham, after a violent attack at the busy junction of Huntingdon Street and Woodborough Road.
Young Man Dies Despite Paramedics’ Efforts
Davices Anderson, 22, was treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital. Medics fought hard to save him, but he was pronounced dead at 9.36am. The community has been left reeling by the loss of the young man.
Five Charged As Investigation Unfolds
Following a thorough probe, police have charged five suspects. Courtney McCleary, 53, of High Cross Leys; David St Anthony Francis, 60, from Bingham; and Lisa Barlow, 44, also from High Cross Leys, face murder charges. They are set to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today, Tuesday 2 May.
Also charged with assisting an offender are Danny O’Keefe, 49, from Keswick Court, Sneinton, and Gregory Bailey, 50, of St Ann’s. They too will appear in court today.
New Arrests and Ongoing Enquiries
Detectives made another arrest on Monday (1 May), detaining a 40-year-old woman on suspicion of murder. Meanwhile, three others—a 39-year-old man and two women aged 33 and 44—arrested for assisting an offender, have been released on bail as investigations continue.
Detective Inspector Clare Gibson said: “We’re pleased to have now made further progress in our investigation by charging five suspects in connection with this attack which resulted in the tragic loss of such a young life.”
