Gunfire Shatters Upminster Home, Child Shot in Terrifying Burglary
Detectives are hunting for answers after a brutal shooting in Upminster left an 11-year-old boy injured. Police swooped on a property on Kerry Drive following a terrifying armed break-in on Friday night.

Police were called at 9.30pm on May 1 after a homeowner opened the door to a man posing as a delivery driver. Multiple suspects, armed with knives, forced their way inside.
Inside the home, the boy was found with a gunshot wound, while a man in his 40s suffered head injuries, possibly from a knife or the gunfire itself. Both were rushed to hospital. The man’s injuries are not life-threatening, but the boy remains in a serious, stable condition that could change his life forever.
Weapons Seized, Manhunt Underway
Police recovered two firearms from the scene. Several suspects fled before officers arrived. Detective Inspector Matt Webb vowed to track down those responsible.
“This nightmarish attack on the victims’ own doorstep has, understandably, shaken the family and the local community. We are chasing every lead to bring these criminals to justice,” said DI Webb. “If you have any information, no matter how small, get in touch. We will work tirelessly to keep our streets safe.”
