Armed Raid at Dorset Business Leaves Man Seriously Injured

Two masked men stormed a commercial premises near Newbury at around 2.30pm on Tuesday, 13 October 2020, demanding cash at knifepoint. The occupant, a local man in his 50s, was viciously assaulted and suffered serious injuries – though thankfully, they are not life-threatening.

Suspects Arrested and Charged

A 29-year-old Weymouth man has been charged with aggravated burglary and wounding with intent. He appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 17 October, and is set to face Bournemouth Crown Court on 20 November 2020.

Alongside him, a 34-year-old woman from Blandford, a 42-year-old woman from Wincanton, and a 38-year-old man from Gillingham were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary. All three have been released on police bail as investigations continue.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward urgently,” said Detective Constable Holly Spillman of Weymouth CID.
