Romford Man Busted for Common Assault in St James’s Park

Lewis Hughes, 23, from Wigton Way, Romford, has been charged with common assault. The charge came through a postal requisition on the evening of Thursday, 1 July. Hughes is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 30 July.

Incident Caught on Camera

The drama unfolded around 7.20pm on Sunday, 27 June, when police spotted a man being confronted by a group in St James’s Park. Officers quickly intervened, spoke to the victim, and checked his wellbeing.

Thankfully, the victim escaped without any injuries.

Investigation Underway

After the encounter, cops reviewed video footage that surfaced following the incident. The case was handed over to the Public Order Crime Team, and enquiries are ongoing.
