Three More Arrested Over Teen’s Fatal Shooting in Cheshunt

New Arrests Shake Northamptonshire and London

Police arrested Damaris McBeth, 19, from Cheshunt, and Rhys Antwi, 19, from SW16 in Northamptonshire on Wednesday, 19 April, both suspected of murder. The following day, on Thursday, 20 April, Alfred Coker, 20, from SE21, was also detained in London on the same suspicion.

Charged and Remanded: Court Dates Set

All three suspects were charged on 22 April and have been remanded in custody. Alfred Coker is set to appear at Croydon Magistrates Court today, Saturday 22 April, while Rhys Antwi and Damaris McBeth will face Willesden Magistrates Court also today.

Earlier Charges for Three Other Men

Previously, three men were charged in connection with Tyler’s murder:

  • Tyrese Barnett, 19, no fixed address, charged with murder, attempted murder of another male, and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
  • Leo Reid, 19, of Tulse Hill, SW2, charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
  • Tyrese Matthews, 20, from SE11, charged on Wednesday, 19 April.

All remain in custody and will next appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, 5 July.

Tragic Shooting in N15

The investigation began after police and London Ambulance Service were called at 4.20am on Thursday, 13 April to Norman Road, N15. They found 17-year-old Tyler with a gunshot wound.

He was rushed to hospital but sadly died the next afternoon, Friday, 14 April. A post-mortem confirmed he died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Tyler’s family continues to receive support from specialist officers during this difficult time.
