Driver Caught After High-Speed Chase in Wateringbury
A reckless driver who could have caused serious harm was finally brought to justice after refusing to stop for Kent Police.
Chased and Charged
Officers from Kent Police’s Roads Policing Unit attempted a routine stop in Wateringbury earlier this week. The driver ignored commands and sped off, sparking a police pursuit. The chase ended when officers managed to stop the vehicle and detain the suspect.
Multiple Offences Uncovered
The unnamed driver now faces serious charges including:
- Failing to stop for police
- Driving while disqualified
- Driving without insurance
On top of these, police revealed the suspect was wanted on a warrant for failing to appear in court. The individual has been remanded in custody.
Kent Police Sounds Warning
A Kent Roads Policing Unit spokesperson said: “This arrest shows the dangers of driving unlicensed and uninsured. We are committed to keeping our roads safe and will take firm action against lawbreakers.”
