Car Crashes Into London Bus in Early Hours – Driver Miraculously Escapes Serious Injury
High-Speed Smash on Jenkins Road
The driver of a car had a lucky escape after crashing into the side of a London bus on Jenkins Road in Barking just after midnight on Saturday, May 1st. Witnesses claim the car sped out from a side road before smashing into the bus, which was in service at the time.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
Paramedics, police officers, and firefighters from the London Fire Brigade arrived swiftly at around 12.30am. Fire crews worked to free the trapped car driver and bus passengers. Fortunately, the bus driver escaped unharmed despite having to break the vehicle’s fire exit to get passengers out.
Multiple ambulances and paramedic officers treated those injured at the scene. Some victims were taken to hospital for further care.
Road Closure and Ongoing Investigation
The Met Police’s traffic command (SO15) has closed Jenkins Road in both directions while the crash site is cleared and an investigation into the cause is underway. Fire crews also secured the scene after liquid leaked from the bus onto the road.
