Off-Duty Cop Threatens Club Bouncers with Gun Photo After Being Refused Entry
Off-duty Met Police officer PC Samuel Addy sparked outrage after reportedly flashing a photo of a gun to nightclub bouncers when turned away for being drunk. The shocking episode from March 6, 2022, was laid bare at a misconduct hearing on December 21, 2023.
Binge-Drinking Spillover Sparks Intimidation Tactic
PC Addy, heavily intoxicated after a night of binge drinking, tried to gain entry to a London nightclub. When the bouncers refused, he didn’t take it lightly. Instead, he threatened them with a photo of a firearm, accompanied by the chilling warning, “Look back in the day, you wouldn’t mess with me.”
Despite the attempt at intimidation, the club staff stood their ground, showing zero fear and brushing off his stunt.
Further Police Drama and Threats on Colleague
When police arrived, Addy’s behaviour worsened. Witnesses say he slapped a colleague’s hands twice while snarling, “Do not touch me because I will lay you out.” The misconduct panel heard this aggressive conduct lasted eight tense minutes.
Gross Misconduct Verdict and Career Fallout
The hearing found PC Addy guilty of gross misconduct. The panel stated:
“He used the gun photo as an implicit threat to get into the club, which was to his advantage. His inappropriate behaviour went on for around eight minutes despite clear signals it was unacceptable.”
Though Addy had already quit the Metropolitan Police, the panel concluded he would have been sacked without notice if still serving.
