A North London community is reeling after a tragic hit-and-run claimed the life of 28-year-old Laura Sone-Demetrious on the A10 in Edmonton. The heartbreaking incident took place on Tuesday evening, January 9, leaving Laura and her two dogs dead and a family devastated.
Heartbreaking Loss of Laura and Her Dogs
Emergency crews rushed to the scene at 7:20 pm but were unable to save Laura or her pets. Laura’s family received the grim news early the next day, after police identified her through pet tags found on her dogs.
Sister’s Emotional Tribute to Laura
Laura’s sister, Gina Sone-Demetrious, 24, opened up about the unbearable grief she is facing. “I can’t close my eyes without seeing her,” Gina told MyLondon. “I’ll miss her smile, her laugh, even when she annoyed me. I can’t believe I’ll never see her again.”
Gina recalled the traumatic moment when police informed the family. “I was woken by my mum’s screams. She said, ‘Get up, we have police here. They’re saying Laura has been killed.’ I was crying my eyes out. It’s unimaginable to lose your sister like this.”

Known for her warm personality and kindness, Laura was a beloved sister, friend, and dog owner. Her sister described her as an “angel in disguise” who loved cooking, baking, and helping friends through tough times.
