Elderly woman attacked in terrifying home invasion by masked thug in Storrington
Masked Intruder Strikes in Ravenscroft
A 77-year-old woman suffered facial injuries after a masked man broke into her Storrington home in the Ravenscroft area. The horror unfolded at around 9.45pm on Friday, 16 May, when the balaclava-clad attacker forced his way inside and brutally assaulted the elderly victim.
Man Arrested and Bailed as Police Probe Motive
A 39-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage linked to the shocking incident. Sussex Police say he has been bailed with conditions until 19 July while investigations continue. The motive for the attack remains unknown.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Officers are calling on anyone in the Ravenscroft area on the night of 16 May who witnessed suspicious behaviour or has CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage to get in touch. A Sussex Police spokesperson said:
“This was a distressing incident that has left the victim shaken and injured. We’re asking for anyone who saw anything unusual that evening, or has footage that may assist, to contact us.”
