Faversham Fiend Sentenced to 14 Years for Brutal Head Stomp Attack
Violent Assault Shocks Kent Town
Lewis Shaw, 28, from Market Street, Faversham, has been jailed for over 14 years after a savage attack where he stamped on a man’s head. Shaw didn’t stop there – he also battered the victim with a metal pole and a baseball bat during the brutal assault.
Guilty Pleas and Court Verdicts
Shaw pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent, two charges of affray, and possession of a knife. Despite the severity, a jury cleared him of attempted murder. Nonetheless, on 5 November 2019 at Maidstone Crown Court, Shaw was slammed with a 14-year-and-3-month sentence.
The judge ruled Shaw must serve at least two-thirds of his sentence before parole due to his dangerous nature. After release, he’ll be on licence for five more years, keeping the parole officers busy.
Horrific Details of the Attack
In the early hours of 16 March 2019, Shaw descended on Larksfield Road where he viciously beat a man with a metal pole and baseball bat. Even as the victim lay unconscious, Shaw rampaged, stamping and kicking his head, inflicting devastating injuries before driving away.
Later that day, armed with a knife and hammer, Shaw terrorised a home on Whiting Street. He smashed a kitchen window with the hammer before fleeing, adding to his spree of violence.
Police React to chilling violence
Detective Constable Rebecca Kemp of Swale CID called the attack “violent and appalling.” She added, “Shaw showed no mercy, leaving his victim with life-changing injuries. Thankfully, this hefty custodial sentence means Shaw is off the streets and no longer a threat.”
