Blaze Erupts at Dubai’s Torch Tower – Flames and Debris Rain Down
A huge fire has broken out at Dubai’s infamous Torch Tower, sending flames streaking up the exterior and debris crashing down below. Witnesses say emergency response looks slim on the ground so far, with just a handful of fire trucks spotted at the scene.
Flaming Debris Falls as Fire Spreads Fast
The luxury residential skyscraper, known locally as The Torch, is one of the tallest in the world, standing over 330 metres high. Flames have erupted from two separate points on the building, with glass and metal raining down on the nearby streets.
Residents Recall 2015 Inferno
Locals are reminded of the horrific 2015 blaze when hundreds of residents had to be evacuated as fire gutted multiple floors of this expat-packed tower in Dubai Marina. That fire spread rapidly due to the building’s flammable exterior cladding, a factor cited again by UAE civil defence teams this time.
“One fire broke out, followed by two more separate blazes,” a local source revealed.
The Torch Tower, once the world’s tallest residential building in 2011, lost the crown to the Princess Tower the next year but remains a Dubai icon—and tonight, a scene of chaos.
