Teenager Stabbed to Death Near Hazel Grove
Police were called at 7.19pm on Saturday, April 10, after reports of a stabbing near the junction of Hazel Grove and Sydenham Road. Officers and the London Ambulance Service arrived to find a young male suffering from a stab wound.
Despite emergency efforts, the victim was pronounced dead shortly after 8pm. He has been identified as 17-year-old Levi Earnest-Morrison. His grieving family has been informed and is receiving support from specialist officers.
Investigation Underway – Woman Arrested
A post-mortem on Monday, April 12 confirmed Levi died from a stab wound causing catastrophic bleeding. The Met’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the murder probe.
Police arrested a 35-year-old woman on suspicion of murder on Sunday, April 11. She remains in custody while detectives continue their investigation.
Detective Chief Inspector Mick Norman said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in the area on Saturday evening to come forward and speak with us. One piece of information, no matter how small, could prove vital in providing Levi’s family with the answers they need.”
