How Police Busted the Drug Gang
Specialist Crime Officers began Operation Balashikha in May 2019 after intelligence pointed to Class A drug dealing in Harrow. A covert four-month probe followed, uncovering the gang’s activities.
On 23 September 2019, cops spotted Abdulla and Mohammed in a vehicle on Church Road. When officers ordered them to stop, the pair bolted, sparking a foot chase before their capture. A search of their car uncovered cash and 21 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine.
Phone data analysis linked all five men to the drug ring. The very next day, warrants were executed at the homes of Hussain, Farmer, and Bani, who were arrested without incident.
Cop Speaks Out on Community Impact
“Each one of these men had a function in this criminal drug line – and I would like to thank all officers involved who helped bring them to justice,” said Detective Inspector Tom Pearse. “We know drugs fuel much of the violent crime around here, so taking down dealers like these is key to cutting violence. I hope the local community feels reassured that we listened to them and acted. “If anyone has info on drug dealing in their area, we urge them to come forward. Your tip-offs are vital to cracking these cases.”
Meanwhile, a sixth man arrested alongside Abdulla and Mohammed in 2019 was jailed earlier for 12 weeks for assaulting an emergency worker.
