Man Charged with Murder of Woman in Gillingham
Benjamin Bowler Arrested
Benjamin Bowler, 40, from Richmond Road, Gillingham, has been charged with the murder of a 39-year-old woman. The pair were known to each other, Kent Police confirmed.
Tragic Scene in Richmond Road
Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service rushed to a property on Richmond Road at 4:51pm on Thursday, 16 January 2020. Despite their efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Murder Investigation Underway
The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate launched a full murder probe. On Sunday, 19 January, the Crown Prosecution Service gave the green light to charge Bowler with murder.
Court Appearances Scheduled
Bowler appeared via video link at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 20 January. He has been remanded and will next face Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday, 22 January.
