Violent Ex-Manslaughterer Locked Up for Brutal Attacks
Eddie Ives, 41, from Harden Road, Northfleet, was sentenced to two years and three months in prison at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday, 13 May 2025. He pled guilty to two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH) and breaching a Violent Offender Order twice.
Repeated Attacks Despite Court Orders
Ives, already under a Violent Offender Order following a 2013 manslaughter conviction, blasted past the law with shocking violence towards a woman he knew.
- 16 October 2024: During an argument at a Watling Street hotel, Ives grabbed the victim’s hair and slammed her head into a parked car, leaving her with a cut eyebrow.
- 24 October 2024: Barely a week later, he waited outside her home after shopping, became verbally abusive, then threw a glass at her face. This attack caused deep cuts to her cheek, lip, and jaw.
He was arrested on 10 November 2024 after a police investigation.
Court Clamps Down with Prison and Restraining Order
The court ordered an additional indictment for coercive and controlling behaviour to lie on file. Ives also received a five-year restraining order to protect the victim from further harm.
Police Slam Ives’ “Appalling” Conduct
Detective Constable Sam Strudwick, leading the investigation, condemned Ives’ actions:
“This appalling man showed no qualms in threatening, abusing, and assaulting a vulnerable woman despite being subject to a court order meant to prevent this type of offending. Ives’ actions displayed contempt for the court, and he deserves to be imprisoned.”
DC Strudwick also praised the victim’s bravery:
“She has shown great courage in coming forward and assisting us to bring her attacker to justice. I hope she can now move on with her life knowing he is behind bars.”
