East London Attack: Four Men Jailed for Brutal Assault

A savage attack in East London has landed four men behind bars after a 35-year-old victim was left fighting for his life with multiple brain bleeds and severe injuries. The harrowing assault took place on May 16, 2023, leaving the victim with a collapsed lung, broken jaw, ribs, and spine fractures.

Heavy Jail Terms for the Gang

Kirtys MacKenzie, 30, from Beckton, got the longest sentence—four years and three months—for causing serious harm under Section 18 GBH. The Jacobs brothers from East Ham—Pierre (20), Andre (28), and Lewis (30)—were convicted of Section 20 GBH. Andre and Lewis each received two years and three months, while Pierre got two years.

Attack Sparked By Road Rage and Gym Fallout

The brutal episode kicked off after a series of car collisions on Clements Road, E6. The victim was dragged from his vehicle and pummeled in a savage 20-second assault that left him motionless. MacKenzie even returned to stamp on the victim’s head moments later.

Detective Constable Joanne Trevor revealed the violence was sparked by an earlier bust-up between the victim and Pierre Jacobs at a local East Ham gym. CCTV and mobile phone data were crucial in nabbing the attackers.

“The victim was outnumbered and didn’t stand a chance,” said DC Trevor. “At one point, it wasn’t clear if the victim would survive. He could have lost his life that day.”

Victim Faces Life-Altering Consequences

Beyond immediate injuries, the victim now faces long-term cognitive issues and an increased risk of epilepsy. His phone, AirPods, and glasses were stolen during the ordeal.

This shocking case highlights the devastating impact of violent crime. The stiff prison terms reflect the brutal nature of the attack and send a clear message: violence will not be tolerated.
