Tragedy Near Regent’s Park: One Dead in Nursing Home Blaze
Fire Tears Through North London Care Home
Emergency crews raced to Esther Randall Court, a residential home just steps from Regent’s Park, after a fire broke out early on Thursday morning, January 5. The building, housing 35 self-contained one-bedroom flats for adults aged 55 and over, became the scene of horror shortly after 7am.
One Dead, Two Injured
Despite the heroic efforts of firefighters and paramedics, one resident sadly died in hospital following the blaze. Four others were rescued from the site, with two rushed to hospital for treatment. Authorities have not yet released details on their condition.
Police and Emergency Services Respond
The Met Police confirmed officers, London Fire Brigade, London Ambulance Service, and Air Ambulance swiftly attended the scene after the fire was reported at 7.25am. A spokesperson said:
“Police were called at 7.25am on Thursday, 5 January to reports of a fire at Little Albany Street, NW1. Officers, London Fire Brigade, London’s Air Ambulance and London Ambulance Service attended. The address is a multi-occupancy care facility. A number of residents were evacuated. Two people were taken to hospital. No arrests have been made.”

Fire investigators have launched a full inquiry to determine the cause of the devastating blaze at the nursing home. Authorities continue to assess the situation as relatives and neighbours wait anxiously for updates.
