Teenage Drug Dealer Jailed for Burglary and Knife Threats
18-Year-Old Horror Hits Sheerness and Medway
A teenage drug dealer who also burgled a home, threatened a boy with a knife, and tried to break into a parked car has been locked up for 18 months.
Khai Whittle, 18, from Foots Cray Lane, Sidcup, racked up a string of offences across Sheerness and Medway in early 2020. His crimes included supplying illegal ecstasy, MDMA, and diazepam to teenagers.
Knife Threat After Drug Supply
On 1 February 2020, Whittle handed ecstasy to four teenage boys in Sheerness. When one refused to kiss someone else’s shoes, Whittle pulled a knife and threatened him.
Two days later, police arrested Whittle but had to release him on bail while gathering more evidence.
Burglar Breaks In While on Bail
Ignoring conditions, Whittle broke into a home in Chequers Street, Higham, at 3.40am on 7 March. He smashed a patio window to get in but fled when the owner woke up.
CCTV caught Whittle trying to break into a nearby Range Rover too. Police arrested him an hour later at Higham Train Station, finding ecstasy, diazepam, and cannabis on him.
Multiple Charges and Sentencing
Whittle pleaded guilty to seven charges, including drug supply, attempted burglary, vehicle interference, possessing an offensive weapon, and drug possession. Woolwich Crown Court sentenced him on 28 August.
Meanwhile, Alfie Johnson, 18, from Swanscombe, was also charged for attempted burglary and vehicle interference related to the March 7 break-in. He got a 12-month community order plus 100 hours’ service and rehab sessions.
Detective Constable Amy Edwards said: “Whittle is a prolific and remorseless offender who is willing to supply drugs, burgle homes, and break into cars. The impact on victims has been deeply distressing, and I hope they find closure now he’s behind bars.”
“It’s regrettable to see any young person locked up, but this sentence is proportionate. I hope Whittle uses his time in prison to reform.”
