Teen Stabbed Outside North London College Sparks Lockdown
A teenager was injured in a stabbing outside a North London college on Wednesday, September 11. The shocking attack happened near City and Islington College on Camden Road. As a result, the college went into immediate lockdown to protect students and staff.
Quick Police and Ambulance Response
The Metropolitan Police were called to the scene at around 1:25pm following reports of the stabbing. Officers arrived alongside London Ambulance Service crews who found the teen with a hand injury. Paramedics treated him on site and confirmed his condition was not serious.
College Lockdown and Safety Measures
As a precaution, the college’s Holloway Road centre was briefly locked down. The site reopened the following morning with no further safety concerns. A college spokesperson said:
“We can confirm that on September 11, police were called to an incident outside our Holloway Road centre. The site was briefly locked down as a precaution to ensure the safety of students and staff. It reopened this morning as usual, and there are no further concerns regarding student safety. We thank our students and staff who acted calmly throughout.”
Ongoing Police Investigation
The Metropolitan Police have made no arrests yet but continue to investigate. They urge anyone with information to come forward. The London Ambulance Service added they were called at 1:39pm and sent an ambulance crew and a paramedic in a fast-response car. The injured teen was treated at the scene and did not require further hospital care.
Despite the incident, the college resumed normal operations the next day while police inquiries continue.
