Lambeth Councillor Suspended Over Shocking Peckham Assault Charges
A Lambeth councillor has been suspended from all roles and party membership after facing serious criminal charges linked to an alleged assault in Peckham.
Councillor Irfan Mohammed Suspended
Irfan Mohammed, who has represented the Clapham Park ward on Lambeth Council since 2018, appeared in court following a police call-out to a reported assault involving a woman in Peckham.
A Lambeth Council spokesperson confirmed Mohammed’s immediate suspension, stating: “We are unable to make further comment due to the ongoing investigation.”
More Family Members Also Charged
- Kaymren Mohammed faces three counts of assault by beating and one count of controlling and coercive behaviour within an intimate family relationship.
- Zairab Mohammed has been charged with coercive and controlling behaviour in an intimate family relationship.
All three individuals remain under investigation. No pleas have been entered yet.
