Brighton Cops Nab Man with £5,000 Worth of Cannabis

Brighton Police have arrested a man caught red-handed with a stash of drugs worth thousands. The 24-year-old was found with 90 zip bags of cannabis after officers spotted him riding a scooter illegally on Eastern Road at 11am on August 29.

Attempted Escape Ends on Madeira Drive

The suspect tried to make a break for it when challenged by officers from the Brighton Police, Tactical Enforcement Unit, and Neighbourhood Policing Team. But he was quickly caught on Madeira Drive. A search uncovered the large quantity of cannabis, estimated to be worth around £5,000 on the street.

Multiple Charges and Ongoing Investigations

  • Arrested on suspicion of driving without a licence or insurance
  • Charged with theft of a vehicle
  • Possession with intent to supply a Class B drug

The man, who has no fixed address, has been released on conditional bail. Police say investigations into the incident continue.
