Teen Victim Escapes Knife Mugging Near Tesco Express
Knife Threat on Magdalen Street
Just before 1pm on Friday 24th February, a teenage boy was targeted in a terrifying robbery on Magdalen Street. Two suspects approached him close to Tesco Express, with one brandishing a knife.
Demanded to Hand Over Valuables
The boy was forced to hand over his bag and earphones. Thankfully, he escaped without injury but was left visibly shaken by the ordeal.
Suspects Flee But Police Give Chase
Alerted by multiple reports of suspicious activity, officers arrived on the scene swiftly. When the suspects spotted the police, they took off, sparking a chase through several streets.
Both—an 18-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy—were caught and arrested. Police recovered a number of items during the arrest.
Robbery Suspects Questioned
The pair are now being questioned on suspicion of robbery as police continue their investigation.
