Edlington Shooting: 21-Year-Old Charged with Attempted Murder
A 21-year-old man has been charged following a shooting in Edlington last week that left a 27-year-old man seriously injured.
Shooting on Prince’s Crescent
Police were called to Prince’s Crescent just before 1pm on Sunday, 22 May. A 27-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds to his right arm. He was rushed to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
Kian Thorpe, 21, from Baines Avenue, Edlington, was arrested on 28 May. He faces charges of attempted murder, two counts of possession of a controlled drug, and two counts of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug. Thorpe is set to appear before Doncaster Magistrates Court on Monday, 30 May.
Additional Arrests and Bail
- A 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of attempted murder have been released on bail.
- A 22-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman arrested for assisting an offender have also been granted bail.
- A 19-year-old man arrested on 26 May on suspicion of assisting an offender is now released under investigation.
- A 44-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman arrested on 24 May on suspicion of attempted murder remain on bail.
