Chippenham Monster Locked Up for Raping Young Boy
James Morrison, 31, a homeless man from Chippenham, has been slammed with a hefty prison sentence after admitting to horrific sexual abuse of a young boy. The Winchester Crown Court delivered justice on November 22, sending shockwaves through the community.
Shocking Crimes Uncovered After Brave Victim Speaks Out
The vile offences came to light back in July when Morrison faced Salisbury Crown Court. He confessed to four counts of raping a child, plus multiple other child sex crimes including engaging in sexual activity in the presence of the victim, and inciting a child to participate in sexual acts.
Heavy Sentence for Monster: 19 Years in Jail
Morrison was sentenced to 19 years and four months behind bars, with 13 years and four months to serve in prison. He will then serve six more years on an extended licence. On top of that, he has been slapped with a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order and must sign the sex offenders register for life.
Detective Praises Victim’s Courage Amid Traumatic Ordeal
Detective Investigator Francesca Mason from the Child Abuse Investigation Team (CAIT) praised the victim’s bravery. Despite threats from Morrison, the courageous youngster told his mother after she found incriminating messages on his phone. She encouraged him to report the abuse to police.
“The victim showed remarkable maturity and bravery throughout this traumatic court process,” said Mason. “We’re pleased Morrison will spend a long time behind bars for exploiting a defenceless child.”
Mason urged anyone who suspects sexual abuse to report it immediately. Swift action helps police crack down on predators like Morrison and protect vulnerable children.
