A 52-year-old man from Bilsthorpe has been locked up for secretly filming children and spreading vile images on social media.
Lee Bowdler Caught Sharing Child Abuse Filth Online
Lee Bowdler was busted by the National Crime Agency (NCA) after investigators traced obscene Twitter posts back to his email and IP address.
He was arrested at work in Colwick last May. Police seized eight devices from his home. Forensic experts found 271 sickening images, including the worst Category A abuse material.
Horrific Hidden Camera Footage Found
Investigators also uncovered a secret recording of two children taking a bath, filmed with a hidden camera. Bowdler faced extra charges for this shocking act of voyeurism.
Nottingham Crown Court Hands Down Sentence
Bowdler admitted multiple charges, including making and distributing indecent images, plus voyeurism, at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court in February.
On August 14, Nottingham Crown Court jailed him for 12 months. He was also slapped with a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
“Lee Bowdler clearly had a sexual interest in children, shown both by the footage he shot and the child abuse images he’d accumulated,” said Adam Sprague, NCA operations manager. “We are determined to protect children from sexual abuse and bring offenders to justice.”
