Steven Faber, 53, from Clapham, was slammed with a 30-month jail sentence on Friday, 14 May. He was convicted of an armed robbery at Inner London Crown Court.
Masked Menace Strikes at Clapham Shop
In the early hours of 12 September 2020, Faber stormed into a shop on Clapham Park Road brandishing a Beretta-style handgun. He threatened the cashier, shouting, “Give me the money or I’ll shoot you.”
Under duress, the cashier handed over £130 before Faber fled the scene.
Met Police Flying Squad Nab Armed Robber
The Met’s elite Flying Squad swiftly launched an investigation. Using CCTV footage, they tracked down Faber and arrested him on 29 September.
Detective Constable Stefen Rule said: “Weapons have no place on the streets of London. Our priority is to protect our communities and target those involved in firearms and violence.
“This case is another good example of the work we do to remove violent offenders from the streets.”
Guilty Plea Seals Faber’s Fate
On 14 May, Faber pleaded guilty to robbery and possession of an imitation firearm, sealing his fate at Inner London Crown Court. His 30-month sentence sends a clear message: don’t bring guns, fake or real, to London’s streets.
