Man Jailed for Over Two Years in Shocking Domestic Abuse Case
A 25-year-old has been locked up for two years and three months after terrorising his ex-girlfriend with relentless abuse and chilling coercive control. Hoshmand Ahmadpoor, from Bitterne Road West, Southampton, pleaded guilty to multiple charges at Southampton Crown Court last week.
Chilling Abuse and Threats
Ahmadpoor admitted to coercive control, two assaults, and criminal damage against his 28-year-old ex-partner. His twisted tactics included threats of violence to keep her under his thumb and bullying her into dropping a police complaint.
In June, during a heated row, Ahmadpoor put his hands around the woman’s throat. Just months later in September, he escalated matters by holding a knife to her throat and smashing a door at his home. Thankfully, she escaped serious injury.
Bravery Leads to Justice
Thanks to the courageous victim speaking out, justice has been served. Police praised her bravery, admitting it’s never easy for survivors to come forward.
Police Crackdown on Domestic Abuse
Hampshire Constabulary highlighted the seriousness of coercive and controlling behaviour, calling it a “debilitating crime” that victims often don’t even recognise. Tackling offenders remains a top priority.
