Bus Driver Stabbed in Brutal Attack on London’s Commercial Road
Within hours of the shocking stabbing, cops tracked down suspect Bradley Peek, 20, from Jamaica Street, E1, using CCTV and facial recognition tech.
Knife-Wielding Attack Caught on Camera
The violence erupted after Peek spotted a man he knew arguing with a London bus driver. He jumped into the confrontation, brandished a knife, and stabbed the driver. Peek was swiftly arrested and charged with Grievous Bodily Harm with Intent.
Victim Suffers Severe Injuries
The victim’s injuries were life-threatening. He endured a torn heart, fractured seven ribs, and a punctured lung. After emergency surgery at the Royal London Hospital, doctors managed to save his life.
Justice Served: Peek Sentenced to Over Five Years
The stabbing took place at 1:15pm on Sunday, 18 June. Following a thorough investigation, Peek was sentenced to more than five years behind bars.
Detective Inspector Jonathan Potter said: “This was a senseless attack and a huge team effort from officers across the Met to secure justice for the victim.
“Facial recognition technology and CCTV footage allowed officers to quickly identify and locate Peek. I also thank the Royal London Hospital, where emergency surgery saved the victim’s life.”

Siwan Hayward, Director of Security, Policing and Enforcement at TfL, said: “This was an appalling act of violence against our colleague who was just doing their job.

“We will always work with police to push for the strongest sentences possible for offenders, and we’re pleased this attacker has been brought to justice.”
