Man Charged with Murder After Eastleigh Stabbing Death
Police have charged a 36-year-old man with murder following a fatal stabbing in Eastleigh. Andi Leigh Edwards, from Scott Road, is set to appear before Southampton Magistrates Court on Monday, 10 July.
Tragic Stabbing Shakes Eastleigh Community
Officers were called to Scott Road just before 11.30pm on Thursday, 6 July after reports of a man suffering serious stab wounds. The victim, 22-year-old Alex Woods, later died from his injuries.
Investigation Continues as Woman Released
A 51-year-old woman from Eastleigh was also arrested on suspicion of murder but has since been released. She remains under investigation as inquiries press on.
Police Urge Residents to Stay Vigilant
“Incidents like this have a significant impact on people living in the area and I would like to thank the local community for their assistance,” said Detective Superintendent Justin Norris.
“Residents will have seen officers conducting door-to-door enquiries. We will maintain a strong presence in the area. The Neighbourhood Policing Team is available to speak to anyone with concerns about this incident.”
