A murder probe is underway after a man’s body was found at Tennyson Court, Sunderland Road, Gateshead. Emergency services were called yesterday evening following reports of a male in distress.

Paramedics Battle to Save Victim

At 9pm, paramedics alerted police about a man in his 40s suffering severe head wounds. Officers rushed to the scene but, despite desperate medical efforts, the victim died at the scene. His death has now been classified as murder.

Arrest Made as Police Seek Witnesses

A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody. Police have informed the victim’s next of kin, who are receiving specialist support during this difficult time.

Officers believe the attack was isolated but remain in the area to reassure the public and continue inquiries.
