Between 10.45am and 12.15pm on Thursday, March 3, a man knocked on a home door in Queens Court, Newcastle. Claiming he was there to check for a water leak, he fooled the 91-year-old resident into letting him inside.

Crook Scopes Out Living Room, Then Vanishes

The fake plumber had a quick look around the living room and told the elderly victim he’d be back in 20 minutes before leaving. But he never returned. Shortly after, the pensioner realised a sum of cash had gone missing.

Police Hunt Suspect Seen Nearby

Northumbria Police say they have identified a man seen in the area at the time who might hold the key to the case. They urge anyone who recognises the suspect to come forward.
