Knife-Wielding Thief Busted After Morrisons Heist and Violent Spree
Kent Police were slammed into action on Wednesday 12 July after a man went on a rampage, threatening and stealing across Folkestone.
Armed Robbery Shocks Morrisons Shoppers
The drama kicked off at 9.40pm when a man swiped alcohol from Morrisons on Sutton Road. Security staff were left fearing for their lives as he pulled a knife and threatened a guard.
Hour of Terror Across the Streets
Police were soon flooded with reports of the same suspect brandishing a knife and making threats nearby. One chilling episode at Furfield Close saw a victim menaced with a blade during an attempted car theft.
Officers scrambled to the scene and at roughly 10.40pm, the suspect was found hiding in a garden and cuffed. A knife was seized as evidence.
Michael Dunn Charged Over Night of Crime
Two days later, 50-year-old Michael Dunn from Victoria Grove, Folkestone, was formally charged with nine offences. These include:
- Possessing a knife in a public place
- Threats to kill
- Attempted robbery
- Threatening a person with a knife
- Assault occasioning actual bodily harm
- Theft
- Affray
- Driving whilst disqualified
- Driving without insurance
Dunn was remanded to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court the same day, facing the court over his violent spree.
