One Year On: Hunt Continues for Crooks Who Led to War Hero’s Death
It’s been a year since a violent burglary at the home of 98-year-old war veteran Peter Gouldstone ended in tragedy. The brave ex-serviceman suffered a brutal attack that left him with head injuries. He died weeks later in hospital.
Detectives are still desperate for help to track down the crooks responsible.
Veteran Attacked in Horrific Home Invasion
The shocking crime took place on 6 November 2018 at Mr Gouldstone’s house on Evesham Road, Enfield. Police were called after neighbours found the elderly veteran injured and bruised. Despite hospital treatment, he passed away a short time later.
Police Issue Fresh Appeal for Information
“At this time of remembrance, I appeal to the public to come forward with any information that could help us identify those responsible for the death of Peter Gouldstone, who was one of those brave and selfless people that Remembrance Day honours,” said Detective Chief Inspector Mark Wrigley.
“The television stolen from Mr Gouldstone’s home has never been recovered. Do you know where it is? Can you put a name to the men shown in the CCTV? I hope the passing of 12 months will allow people to look at the images with fresh eyes. Anyone who was reluctant to come forward before may now feel able to speak out. If you can help, please make the call.”
Anyone with info should call police on 101 quoting reference 2140/06Nov18.
