Detectives Renew Hunt for Clues in Gregory Castillo Volquez Murder

Detectives are upping the pressure after the brutal stabbing of Gregory Castillo Volquez in Haringey earlier this year. The 36-year-old was ruthlessly attacked in a Tiverton Road alleyway at just before 5am on Monday, 13 January.

Two Men Charged but Police Need More Witnesses

Though two men have been charged with Gregory’s murder, cops believe others saw the shocking scene or noticed something off. Officers returned to the area on Wednesday, 12 March, urging locals to come forward with any info, no matter how small.

“This violent attack ripped a father away from his two children,” said Detective Chief Inspector Jim Barry, leading the investigation. “Since January, the incident has massively impacted those close to Gregory and the wider community.”

“It’s crucial we work together to secure justice. Anyone with information must share it with us. We are committed to supporting witnesses throughout the legal process.”

Family Plea for Justice

Gregory’s devastated family, still supported by specialist officers, added:

“Gregory was a much-loved son, father and friend. Our family is heartbroken by this loss. Even the smallest detail could be crucial. Please come forward and help us get justice for Gregory.”

Suspects Await October Trial

  • Benito Ramirez Kones, 19, of Fermain Court East, N1
  • Gabriel Francisco Pineda Gonzalez, 20, of High Trees, SW2

Both were charged with murder in January. Their trial kicks off at the Old Bailey on Monday, 20 October 2025.
