Brighton police have cracked down fast, arresting five suspects after a 19-year-old woman fell seriously unwell during a night out in the city centre. The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday, October 2, on bustling West Street.
Nightclub Staff and Officers Team Up
Club workers quickly stepped in to help the victim before officers on patrol arrived and launched an urgent investigation. Police collaborated closely with the licensed venue to gather key evidence, ensuring a rapid response to the shocking incident.
Chaos in Hampshire and Worthing
Three men from Hampshire, aged 27, 35, and 35, plus a 26-year-old man from Worthing, were nabbed on suspicion of administering poison with intent to harm. All four have been released on conditional bail while inquiries continue.
A fifth man, also from Hampshire and aged 37, was later arrested on the same charges. He remains released under investigation as police dig deeper.
Detective Urges Immediate Reporting

The woman was rushed to hospital for treatment. Police continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
