Tragedy in Hamilton: Man, 33, Dies After Disturbance
Man Arrested and Charged
A 33-year-old man lost his life following a violent incident reported around 3.30pm on Wednesday, 31 March 2021. Police are treating the death as murder. A 20-year-old suspect was quickly arrested and appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Saturday, 3 April 2021.
Family Devastated
The victim, Richard Marshall, was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. His family released a heartfelt statement: “We are completely devastated by the loss of Richard who was a much-loved son, brother, uncle and good friend. He will be cherished in our hearts forever.”
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Detective Inspector Frank Travers of the Major Investigations Team said, “Our thoughts are with Richard’s family at this very difficult time and we are providing them with support. We continue to appeal for witnesses and information.”
