Tragedy at Beachy Head: A 23-year-old woman from Essex has been arrested for allegedly aiding the suicide of another 23-year-old, whose body was found near the infamous East Sussex cliffs on New Year’s Eve.
Body Discovered at Beachy Head
Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 5:20pm GMT on December 31st after concerns were raised for a woman’s safety. Sadly, the victim, also from Essex, was found lifeless near the cliffs.
Investigation Underway, Death Not Suspicious
Sussex Police confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious. The victim’s family have been informed and are being supported by officers.
Arrest Made for Assisting Suicide
The arrested woman, from Essex as well, was questioned on suspicion of intentionally assisting or encouraging someone to take their own life. She has been released on bail while police continue their investigation.
