A 40-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of causing the deadly crash while driving recklessly and under the influence.
Tributes Pour In for “Lovely and Caring” Miss Locke
“She was a lovely woman whose life was tragically cut short,” said Teresa Delafons, a colleague and friend. “Heidie kept us entertained on flights, always up for a laugh. Everyone who knew her will miss her, especially those at United and Pan Am where she started her career.”
Heidie was a United Airlines crew member based in London.
Police Seek Witnesses to Key Moments Before Crash
The M2 London-bound lanes were shut for 10 hours while police carried out a serious collision inquiry.
Kent Police want to speak to the driver of a light-coloured van who may have seen the Mercedes pass before the smash. Officers believe this witness could provide vital information.
Heidie Locke’s brother in America has been informed of the tragedy.
