Blazing Moped Blocks Bishop Street Escape!

Hampshire Police are hunting suspects after a moped was stolen and set ablaze in Portsea’s Bishop Street at around 1am on April 6. The fiery stunt, done right outside Treadgolds Warehouse, trapped people inside by blocking the exit.

Firefighters Rush to Scene

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service quickly extinguished the blaze. Those trapped inside the building suffered smoke inhalation and were treated at the scene.

Three Arrested Over Dangerous Arson Attack

  • A 16-year-old boy from Portsmouth was arrested for theft of a motor vehicle and arson with intent or reckless endangerment.
  • An 18-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm and arson.
  • Another 18-year-old man faces charges of arson with intent or reckless endangerment.

All three have been bailed until May 19 as police continue their inquiries.
