PC Christopher Miller Left Fighting for Life After Hit-and-Run

Thames Valley Police have launched a fresh public appeal after PC Christopher Miller, a Roads Policing Unit officer, was critically injured in a shocking hit-and-run crash. The brutal collision happened around 10:20 PM on Thursday, May 22, on B416 Bells Hill in Stoke Poges.

PC Miller was involved in a crash with a white BMW that sped off without stopping. The officer suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition in hospital.

Police Hunt White BMW and Witnesses

Detective Superintendent Will Crowther is urging anyone near Stoke Poges between 10 PM and 1 AM that night to come forward.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the Stoke Poges area between 10 PM and 1 AM on the night of the incident and may have seen the white BMW or witnessed the crash. The vehicle is likely to have had front-end damage. If you have dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage that could be relevant, please contact us.”

Multiple Arrests as Investigation Intensifies

The Major Crime Department of Thames Valley Police is handling the case. So far, four people have been arrested:

  • Two men from Slough, aged 28 and 38, arrested for attempted murder and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Both remain in custody.
  • A 43-year-old man from Slough arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice, now released on police bail.
  • A 37-year-old woman from Slough also arrested for assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice; she remains in custody.

Deputy Chief Constable Ben Snuggs spoke out about the incident:

“PC Christopher Miller was doing his duty—protecting the public—when this horrific incident occurred. All officers deserve to return home safely after every shift. We’re deeply moved by the public’s support, especially from the Slough community, and we’re doing everything we can to uncover the full circumstances.”
