Streatham Man Busted with TERROR Files at Stansted

Airport Stop Unravels Terror Plot

On 13 August 2024, Declan George-Candiani, 26, from Streatham, was caught red-handed at Stansted Airport. A routine Schedule 7 stop led to his phone being seized and cracked open, exposing extremist right-wing content. A follow-up raid at his home uncovered an iPad packed with terror guides, including how-to instructions for ‘lone wolf’ attacks.

Dark Confessions and Satanic Obsession

In chilling interviews, George-Candiani admitted diving deep into radical material after becoming hooked on a group promoting “traditional Satanism.” He claimed a “possessed mindset,” saying he’d made a “pact with the devil” to become a “minion.” He confessed his obsession was “unhealthy” and spiralled out of control.

“This case proves why Schedule 7 stop powers are crucial for nabbing potential terrorists,” said Commander Dominic Murphy from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command. “We found horrific right-wing terrorist content and dangerous attack guides.”

Old Bailey Conviction

On 3 October, the Old Bailey found George-Candiani guilty on two counts of collecting terrorist material under the Terrorism Act 2000. He was cleared of two other charges. Sentencing is due on 28 November.

Police Warn Public to Stay Alert

Commander Murphy reassured London’s Jewish community amid fears following a recent attack. He vowed heightened police patrols and urged the public to stay vigilant but calm. If you see suspicious behaviour, trust your instincts. Report anonymously on 0800 789 321 or online at www.gov.uk/ACT.
